We received a reference to Fortecarbon from Lin Robson - a sailmaker and FD champion from USA. Fortecarbon was already making FD masts for a USA retailer. We ordered 5 FD carbon fiber mast tubes from Forte, which they made according to their design with all necessary local reinforcements according to my drawings. Also the lower 2m of the mast were overall reinforced. The price was very reasonable.

We (Moscow FD sailors) rigged the masts ourselves with Selden/Proctor products and the masts performed very well through the season 2009.

Lin has a mast himself and according to him the masts have similar bending characteristics to other carbon masts, maybe sligthly bendier in the upper part (anyway compatible with his sails).
